The students in Art III studied the propaganda posters from Mao-era China and how these posters used visual imagery and text to communicate a specific ideal or message. The students had to create a poster using colored pencil, marker, or oil paint to communicate something a negative stereotype or action. However, the message had to be communicated through a positive imagery and text. Below are examples from the 1st and 7th hour classes.
