Warhol Paintings

The Art I students completed their studies of the Principles of Design by creating tempera paintings inspired by iconic artist Andy Warhol. The students focused on repetition, variety, and contrast in these paintings by repeating the same image nine times, but applied high contrast, complementary colors (and black and white) to each image. However, the same color combination could not repeat twice, which is where variety is present. Below are examples from the 3rd and 6th hour Art I classes.
