The 1st and 7th hour students were assigned to create a portrait of a person whose positive contributions to society occurred prior to the year 1988. Students had the option to create stencils, wallpaper/poster art, paint directly on the wall, or use a combination of these methods. Several students opted to include their subject’s name and dates of birth and death.
The Graffiti Wall was originally constructed by the 2014 – 2015 4th hour Art I class, who constructed the 81″ x 128″ cinder block wall as part of their study of graffiti and street art. This project was funded in part by the Yukon Public Schools Foundation of Excellence Grant.
