What is the central idea of your concentration?

I enjoy stories, especially ones with pictures. And each of my concentration pieces is a story being told about my struggle with the negative aspects of my life through a fictional persona. Each of my artworks have their own unique symbolism and emotion or situation that represents the hardships that I had gone through.

How does the work in your concentration demonstrate the exploration of your idea?

My original idea for my concentration was to use flowers to represent each emotion or the situation. Instead, I decided that expanding the symbolism beyond flowers would help distinguish my pieces better. With that, pieces 1-3 the persona symbolizes my struggles with self-loathe and lack of inspiration. The hour glasses and covered canvases representing running out of time with the mushrooms meaning my lack of inspiration. In 5 and 6 is the most important to me because in 5, the vines indicate those who held me down from making the choices I wanted, such as in 6, which one of them was cutting my hair and changing my appearance completely. Even though I did cut my hair and slowly become who I wanted to be, I still dealt with problems. Displayed in 9, which symbolizes me escaping toxic relationships. In my pieces I also wanted to convey the feelings with colors, such as in the sadder ones (1-6, 8-10) I used duller color palettes and in the uplifting pieces I used brighter tones.
