Art IV

Art IV is the continuation of Art III with the students using their knowledge of the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design to develop their own artistic style and conceptual ideas. During the first semester of the course, the students will engage in more non-traditional methods of art that are found within the contemporary realm of today’s art world. During the second semester, the students will create a portfolio of works that will represent their own unique artistic style. This portfolio will be presented during the annual YHS Art Show in May. Advanced and more professional materials will be used including the use of acrylic and oil paint, and canvas. Students will be financially responsible for supply costs. ($40.00)

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Art III

*Dependent on enrollment numbers, the Art III & Art IV courses are typically combined into one class, but each student works within their assigned curriculum.*
