Congratulations to Tien Tran who was selected to exhibit two of her works in the 2018 Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition’s “Momentum” exhibition, which will be held March 9-10 at the Gold Dome in Oklahoma City. Momentum is for artists under the age of 30 working in all media including 2D and 3D art, film, installations, performance and more. The exhibition presents a diversified look at young artistic talent in Oklahoma. Only 76 works by 42 artists were accepted into this year’s show.
This is the second straight year Tien has been selected for the exhibition and she is the only high school student exhibiting this year, with the rest of the artists being upper-level undergraduate students, graduate students, or professional artists. Yukon High School has now had six students selected for Momentum in the past four consecutive years.
Yukon High School alumnus and current University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) student Eduardo Martinez was also selected for this year’s Momentum. Eduardo was previously selected to Momentum (Tulsa) in 2015 where he exhibited pieces from his senior portfolio.
Tickets for Momentum are $10 and can be purchased here.
