Student Accepted into OAI and New Graffiti Artwork

Congratulations goes out to senior Emily Hoebing who was selected for the 2016 Oklahoma Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain. Emily is one of only 20 students from across Oklahoma who was selected for the intensive two-week visual arts workshop, where she will have the opportunity to study with Marwin Begaye who is an assistant professor of painting and printmaking at the University of Oklahoma. This marks the third straight year that a student from Yukon High School has been selected as one of the 20 students to attend OAI during the summer.

The 1st and 7th hour Art I classes recently completed their studies of graffiti and street art by focusing on notable figures in history. For more information on the graffiti project and to see artwork from this year’s project, click here.
