Junior Sonia Mawatchakit had her drawing, 2 in 1, selected for the 91st Annual Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and received a “Gold Key” award. Over 2,000 artworks were submitted to the Oklahoma regional, and only 200 of these works received the Gold Key honor. Sonia along with the other Gold Key recipients will have their work submitted to the national competition where they are eligible to receive various awards and monetary prizes. Congrats Sonia!
New artwork is available to view from the 4th hour Art I class and the 1st hour Art III class. Art I completed the first in a series of three portrait studies by learning the essential components for drawing the human face. Art III completed a thorough study of the Color Field movement and one of its most well-known artists, Mark Rothko.
