This past weekend I had the opportunity to participate in the Oklahoma Fall Arts Institute at the Quartz Mountain Resort in southwestern Oklahoma. I enrolled in the “Unusual College” course taught by Joel Nakamura, an artist based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The students in this course experimented with various forms of media including collage, ink painting, and rubber cement resist painting. Below are images from the “Unusual Collage” workshop, as well as images from the screen printing and photography workshops. Please note that all works are copyright property of the artist(s) and may not be reproduced for promotional means or monetary gain.
A big “thank you” goes out to the Oklahoma Arts Council, the Oklahoma State Board of Education, and the Zarrow Family Foundation for providing scholarships for this event, and the staff at OAI and Quartz Mountain for providing a great event!
