The Art II students recently completed an in-depth study of an heirloom passed down through their family. Students used methods of visual analysis to re-interpret their heirloom by including the elements of art and principles of design, the history of the heirloom, and information pertaining to the person who originally owned the object. These artworks were not meant to be an literal representation of the heirloom, but rather the student’s interpretation of the object. Below are artwork examples that include a description of the original heirloom.
