Variety Posters

The students in Art I completed their study of the Principle of Design, “Variety,” by creating a poster focusing on an original slogan or phrase. The students had the choice to work with a partner or by themselves and had to use at least 10 different fonts in order to develop variety within their artwork. The posters were then placed in the Yukon High School Rotunda as an experiment to see how other students interacted with the posters. Did the students stop and read certain posters or did they simply walk right over or around the artwork placed on the ground? Below are examples from this year’s 4th hour class and video of how people interacted with the posters after they were placed in the YHS Rotunda:
