Art III Color Field Paintings Posted

Students in Art III recently completed an acrylic painting based on our study of the Color Field movement (1945-1960) that dominated the mid-century art scene. The students’ focus of the study was based on Mark Rothko’s evolution as a painter and his infamous Seagrams Murals that were originally designed for the Four Seasons restaurant in New York City, but are now displayed in London’s Tate Modern.
